PRESS RELEASE
Elk Grove OEM Auto Repair Technology Leader ALLDATA® Extends Long-Term Commitment to the City, Retaining Hundreds of Jobs
2/18/25
Elk Grove-based technology company ALLDATA has announced a lease renewal between West Taron Holdings LLC and ALLDATA LLC, securing the company’s headquarters at 9650 West Taron Drive. The agreement reaffirms ALLDATA’s deep-rooted commitment to Elk Grove as one of the region’s most innovative and iconic companies.
A Legacy of Innovation
Considered by many to be the original Sacramento tech startup, ALLDATA was founded in Sacramento in 1986 and relocated to Elk Grove in 2008. Prior to ALLDATA, automotive technicians relied on bulky paper manuals to guide them through repair procedures. ALLDATA revolutionized the automotive repair industry with groundbreaking software solutions that consolidated repair information produced by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) into an accessible, searchable, and digital format. Today, ALLDATA is the industry’s #1 choice for OEM-accurate mechanical and collision repair information, shop management software and support services, trusted by more than 400,000 technicians in over 115,000 automotive repair and collision shops worldwide.
In 1996, ALLDATA was acquired by Fortune 500, Memphis, TN-based AutoZone (NYSE: AZO), blending industry-leading repair information with best-in-class automotive parts and customer service. ALLDATA serves customers across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Europe while maintaining its deep roots in Elk Grove.
Economic Impact
The lease renewal ensures ALLDATA’s employees will continue to be based at ALLDATA’s Elk Grove headquarters. “Elk Grove offers an unparalleled combination of space, infrastructure, skilled talent, and an exceptional quality of life,” said Satwinder Mangat, President of ALLDATA. “The city’s strategic proximity to the Bay Area, combined with its proactive support, has been instrumental to our success, making it the ideal home for our headquarters.”
City and regional leaders see ALLDATA’s decision as a testament to Elk Grove’s business-friendly environment. “ALLDATA is a cornerstone of Elk Grove’s business community,” said Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen. “Their continued presence underscores our commitment to providing an environment where businesses can thrive.” Barry Broome, President and CEO of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council, echoed these sentiments and praised the decision as a milestone for the region. “ALLDATA’s commitment to Elk Grove highlights the Greater Sacramento region’s strategic advantages—our skilled workforce, prime location, and dedication to fostering economic growth.”
